John Hartman John attended Brigham Young University where he earned a Master of Accountancy degree. John spent the first four years of his career working for Deloitte as a CPA, after which he decided to pursue his interest in real estate development by joining DMB Associates, a real estate developer that develops master-planned communities in Arizona, California, Utah, and Hawaii.

For the past fifteen years, John has worked for Landmark Companies, maximizing the partnership’s investment in development land holdings, residential master-planned communities, retail centers, and self-storage facilities. He functions as both the CFO and COO and shares responsibility for all aspects of the company, including deal flow, underwriting, entitlement, project management, equity and debt financing, asset acquisition and disposition, asset management, risk management, and contract negotiation.

John’s expertise in the self-storage industry has been developed through entitlement and development of 15 facilities in the Phoenix and Tucson markets. He has also operated, expanded, and repositioned existing storage facilities in the Phoenix Metro area.

He very active in his community. He has previously served as the President of House of Refuge, a transitional housing program for homeless families, as an audit committee member of the Grand Canyon Council of the Boy Scouts of America, as a Boy Scout leader, and as a volunteer in numerous community organizations. When he is not working or serving the community, he enjoys flying, boating, and spending time enjoying the outdoors with his wife and family.
